Recap: Crosspointe Christian Academy Panthers vs. Mooresville Christian Eagles
The Crosspointe Christian Academy Panthers posted their closest win yet this season on Tuesday. They skirted past Mooresville Christian 65-63. The win made it back-to-back wins for Crosspointe Christian Academy.
Crosspointe Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Quinton Ford led the charge by scoring 24 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Ford has scored at least a third of Crosspointe Christian Academy's points. Coltenn Wagner was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six steals.
Mooresville Christian's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Gresh Warren, who scored 23 points along with six rebounds and four steals, and Cameron Boerner who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Warren is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Pitcock, who scored five points along with seven rebounds.
Crosspointe Christian Academy pushed their record up to 6-3 with that win, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.9 points per game. As for Mooresville Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-4.
Crosspointe Christian Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Tabernacle Christian at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Mooresville Christian, they will head out on the road to challenge Phalen Leadership Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Phalen Leadership Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Tuesday.
