League recap: Middletown scores huge upset over Kingston

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Middletown, who took down 149th ranked Kingston, 39-36.

The Middie Bears scaled the state rankings by moving to 206 from 272 this week, the biggest jump in Section 9 AA-I. Middletown was able to move up by topping the Tigers 39-36.

Pine Bush's dynamic duo of Dan McNamara and Mike Martin proved to be unstoppable against Monroe-Woodbury, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. McNamara threw for 184 yards and 2 touchdowns and Martin had 161 yards receiving.

Kingston's Pat Dorrian and Shawn Marchant led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-2 quarterback Dorrian has thrown for 1,297 yards this season, while Marchant has 38 catches for 710 yards. The Bushmen's Martin leads the league in rushing yards with 1,009.

Kevin Carr of the the Crusaders is only 99 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 108 carries Carr has put up 901 yards this year.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Monroe-Woodbury takes on the Middie Bears. At the moment, Pat D'Aliso's team is in first, while Middletown is in fourth.

The Crusaders added to the longest winning streak in Section 9 AA-I this week by beating Pine Bush, 26-14. The victory was the seventh in a row for Monroe-Woodbury.
