Softball Recap: South Pointe Stallions vs. Rock Hill Bearcats
South Pointe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against the Rock Hill Bearcats, falling 22-10. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bearcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-3 back in March.
Katelynne Blythe and Sydney Campbell did some serious damage despite the final result: Blythe went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two doubles, while Campbell went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that Blythe launched this season. Another player making a difference was Traji Curbeam, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.
South Pointe's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Rock Hill, their victory ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-8.
Coming up, South Pointe will take on Richland Northeast at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Rock Hill, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Clover at 7:00 p.m.
