Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask C. Milton Wright). They came out on top against the Elkton Golden Elks by a score of 53-45 on Friday. While the Mustangs didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Several Golden Elks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jordan Mccullough, who went 6 of 13 en route to 14 points and eight steals. Mccullough continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Paige Beougher, who posted nine points along with six boards and three steals.

C. Milton Wright has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Elkton, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-8.

C. Milton Wright didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 47-29 loss against Perryville on the 27th. As for Elkton, they are taking a road trip to square off against North East at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
