Basketball Game Preview: Newcomerstown Trojans vs. Buckeye Trail Warriors

Newcomerstown hasn't had much luck against Buckeye Trail recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Newcomerstown Trojans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Buckeye Trail Warriors at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Last Saturday, Newcomerstown took a blow against Strasburg-Franklin, falling 74-27. The contest marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Meanwhile, Buckeye Trail was beaten by Monroe Central 67-32 on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 513th, while the Seminoles are ranked 197th).

Buckeye Trail's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Newcomerstown, their loss dropped their record down to 11-6.

Newcomerstown skirted past Buckeye Trail 49-46 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Will Newcomerstown repeat their success, or does Buckeye Trail have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
