Preview: North Eugene Highlanders vs. Willamette Wolverines
The North Eugene Highlanders's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Willamette Wolverines at 6:45 p.m. on December 12th. Hopefully North Eugene focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Saturday.
Last Saturday, North Eugene sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 48-45 win over Philomath.
North Eugene's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jonas Spencer, who scored 15 points. India Mohiuddin was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with 4 steals.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Willamette, who are still winless after their fourth matchup. They took a 69-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Crater on Saturday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Thursday (59), Willamette still had to take the loss.
Their wins bumped North Eugene to 5-1 and Philomath to 2-2.
North Eugene was able to grind out a solid win over Willamette in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, winning 58-50. The rematch might be a little tougher for North Eugene since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
