Basketball Recap: Timbaland Mitchell's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Coosa over Chattooga

If Coosa was feeling good fresh off their 67-43 takedown of Dalton Academy last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Coosa Eagles came up short against the Chattooga Indians on Tuesday, falling 66-44. The game marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Timbaland Mitchell, who posted seven points. Jaylen Worfford was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Even though they lost, Coosa smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 15 offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

Coosa's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Chattooga, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 16-3.

Coosa wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 67-45 defeat against Fannin County on the 24th. As for Chattooga, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 80-34 loss against Christian Heritage on the 24th.
