Basketball Recap: Doniphan-Trumbull Comes Up Short

Doniphan-Trumbull lost against Centennial back in January of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Doniphan-Trumbull Cardinals took a 47-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Centennial Broncos. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Doniphan-Trumbull lost, don't look at Charlee Richter. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 15 points and 12 boards. Richter has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Logan Rainforth was another key player, putting up ten points and eight rebounds.

Centennial's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Marley Olson, who posted 12 points and six boards. The dominant performance also gave Olson a new career-high in assists (four). Another player making a difference was Averie Stuhr, who scored six points and nine rebounds.

Doniphan-Trumbull's loss dropped their record down to 2-18. As for Centennial, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-13.

Doniphan-Trumbull has already played their next contest, a 58-46 victory against Wood River on the 14th. As for Centennial, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 47-34 win against Heartland on the 11th.
