Softball Recap: North Hollywood Victorious

North Hollywood proved they can win big two weeks ago (they won by 11) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Cleveland Cavaliers 16-15. For the Huskies, this counts as revenge for the 9-5 victory the Cavaliers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2025.

Kennedy Jones was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. She also hit a triple, marking her first of the season. Fisher Hinnen was another key player, going a perfect 5-for-5 with four runs, two doubles, and one triple.

North Hollywood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

North Hollywood has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Cleveland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Hollywood will host Sylmar at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Huskies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 10.9 runs per game this season. As for Cleveland, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Birmingham at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
