Preview: Brookville Bees vs. Amherst County Lancers
The Brookville Bees will be playing at home against the Amherst County Lancers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 74-30, which was the final score in Brookville's tilt against the Hilltoppers on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Brookville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 357th, while the Hilltoppers are ranked 143rd).

Meanwhile, Amherst County lost to the Pioneers at home by a decisive 54-40 margin on Tuesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Amherst County in their matchups with the Pioneers: they've now lost eight in a row.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jaion Morris, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Zech Lilly was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Brookville's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Amherst County, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.
