Hopewell-Loudon has gone a perfect 6-0 against St. Mary Central Catholic recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Chieftains are taking a road trip to take on the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. Neither Hopewell-Loudon nor St. Mary Central Catholic posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Hopewell-Loudon and Gibsonburg, and Gibsonburg kept the tradition alive. The Chieftains fell just short of the Golden Bears by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday.

Hopewell-Loudon saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sidney Brickner, who went 1-for-3 with one triple. That triple was Brickner's first of the season.

Meanwhile, St. Mary Central Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They came up short against Gibsonburg, falling 21-0.

St. Mary Central Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Hopewell-Loudon, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.

Hopewell-Loudon took their win against St. Mary Central Catholic in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 17-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chieftains since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
