Recap: Sturgeon Bulldogs vs. New Bloomfield Wildcats
The Sturgeon Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They took a 54-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of New Bloomfield. Sturgeon was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as New Bloomfield apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
It was another big night for Nathan Fuhriman, who scored 18 points for New Bloomfield. That makes it three consecutive games in which Fuhriman has scored at least 25% of New Bloomfield's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Fuhriman, who scored seven points along with four steals.
Sturgeon's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for New Bloomfield, their victory bumped their record up to 4-8.
Sturgeon will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Slater at 7:30 p.m. on January 12, 2024. As for New Bloomfield, they will head out on the road to face off against North Callaway at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
