Monticello proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 17) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the El Dorado Wildcats 1-0. This was a revenge game for the Billies: when they faced off against the Wildcats on Thursday, they had to take a 10-6 loss.
Not much got past Jon Luke Brotherton, who gave up just five hits and racked up seven Ks to keep El Dorado off the board.
At the plate, Jerimiah Philley was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
