Baseball Recap: Gorham Fayette Eagles vs. Montpelier Locomotives
Gorham Fayette extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 13 on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 0-3 in the process. They came up short against the Montpelier Locomotives, falling 26-2. The Eagles were not able to make up for their loss to the Locomotives from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.
As for Montpelier, their record now sits at 7-1. Considering they have won four matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
For Montpelier's part, Jaxon Stahler was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Stahler has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
