Basketball Recap: Fergus Falls Comes Up Short

Fergus Falls suffered their biggest defeat since January 9th on Tuesday. They took a blow against the Alexandria Cardinals, falling 92-64. While losing is never fun, the Otters can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 61st, while the Cardinals are ranked seventh).

Leading Alexandria to victory were Mason Witt and Chase Thompson. Witt went 8-for-13 from beyond the arc en route to 31 points, while Thompson went 13-for-19 to rack up 27 points. Thompson is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 46% in the last 16 games he's played. Gavin Roderick was another key player, going 7-for-14 on his way to 15 points.

Fergus Falls' loss dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Alexandria, the win was the 15th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-3.

Fergus Falls has already played their next match (against Brainerd), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Alexandria, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 80-42 victory against Sartell-St. Stephen on the 20th.
