A Season-Best Effort from Preston Hatfield Leads Lee's Summit over Staley

Preston Hatfield produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Lee's Summit to the win on Friday. Hatfield rushed for 278 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 17.4 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. His longest rush was for an incredible 72 yards.

The win was the fifth in a row for Lee's Summit, bringing their record for this year to 7-1. Hatfield and Lee's Summit will be playing at home against Lee's Summit North at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Draivyn Colvin's Rushing Yards a New Career-High

On Friday, Staley had to settle for second even though Draivyn Colvin put up the best numbers he has all season. Colvin rushed for 198 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.0 yards per carry, and also caught a touchdown, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. His longest rush was for an incredible 72 yards.

Staley is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7. Colvin and Staley will take on Raymore-Peculiar at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Big Game from Layman As Lee's Summit Won 63-28

The second Lee's Summit player making an appearance here is Brayden Layman, and for good reason. He threw for 270 yards and three touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last four games he's played.

On the year, Layman has thrown 21 touchdowns while averaging 256.6 passing yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he was only averaging 14.06 passer rating per game. This year he is averaging 121.1 passer rating.

Cirron Harrison Turns in Season-Best Performance

On Friday, Lee's Summit North got the W thanks in part to Cirron Harrison playing the best football he has all season. Harrison picked up 2.5 sacks, forced a fumble, and made six total tackles (4.0 for loss).

Harrison is probably looking forward to his next game, a home matchup against Lee's Summit on Friday. When Harrison last faced the Tigers back in November of 2023, he picked up two sacks, forced two fumbles, and made three total tackles.
