Basketball Game Preview: C.A. Johnson Hornets vs. Midlands STEM Charter Mavericks

The C.A. Johnson Hornets will head out on the road to take on the Midlands STEM Charter Mavericks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Midlands STEM Charter took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on C.A. Johnson, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with seven defeats in a row, C.A. Johnson turned things around against Lamar on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 52-4 victory over the Silver Foxes. The Hornets not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since February 18, 2025 (when they won 64-16).

Meanwhile, Midlands STEM Charter played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 71-7 loss at the hands of Lee Central. While losing is never fun, the Mavericks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 272nd, while the Stallions are ranked 122nd).

C.A. Johnson's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-9. As for Midlands STEM Charter, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
