Softball Game Preview: Williamstown Yellowjackets vs. Buffalo Bison

Williamstown hasn't had much luck against Buffalo recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Yellowjackets will host the Bison at 12:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Having struggled with eight losses in a row, Williamstown turned things around against Valley on Friday. They put the hurt on the Lumberjacks with a sharp 11-2 win. The Yellowjackets not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 29th (when they won 18-6).

Kiersten Kerby was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted over her last eight games. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Shayle Montgomery was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Inessa Buck, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, while Buffalo put up some runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Huntington. The Bison were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over the Highlanders. Considering the Bison have won five matchups by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Buffalo's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Williamstown, their win bumped their record up to 7-14.
