Baseball Game Preview: Sudan Hornets vs. Olton Mustangs

For the second straight game, Sudan will face off against Olton. The Hornets will challenge the Mustangs at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Sudan has six straight wins, Olton has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Sudan made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Olton, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Hornets never let the Mustangs get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory on Tuesday. Considering the Hornets have won 13 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Not much got past Cal Carter, who gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Olton off the board. Carter has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Sudan saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Julian Salas, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Sudan's win bumped their record up to 15-6. As for Olton, their loss dropped their record down to 5-12.
