Baseball Game Preview: McDonogh 35 Roneagles vs. Wright

The McDonogh 35 Roneagles will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Wright at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. McDonogh 35 will be strutting in after a victory while Wright will be coming in after a defeat.

McDonogh 35 is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Mt. Hermon. McDonogh 35 blew past Mt. Hermon 13-1 last Monday.

Brandon Jackson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Jackson was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jakam Glinn, who scored two runs and stole six bases while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Temajh Scott, who scored two runs and stole four bases while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Wright was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Frederick A. Douglass, falling 16-9.

McDonogh 35 took their win against Wright in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 17-2. Does McDonogh 35 have another victory up their sleeve, or will Wright turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
