Basketball Recap: Wakefield Takes a Loss

Wakefield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 44-24 to the Alexandria City Titans. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Titans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Alexandria City was led to victory by Gabrielle Barnes-Thomas and Victoria Patrick. Barnes-Thomas posted 18 points, while Patrick earned 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kori Dickerson, who put up five points.

Wakefield's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Alexandria City, their record now sits at 4-6.

Wakefield will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Langley at 7:30 p.m. on January 27th. As for Alexandria City, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 57-37 loss against West Potomac on the 10th.
