Softball Recap: Independence Takes a Loss

Independence lost against Mount Juliet back in April of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Independence Eagles fell just short of the Mount Juliet Golden Bears by a score of 3-2. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Independence saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brylie Waechter, who went 1-for-2 with one double. Another was Kerrigan Riebe, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in both of her plate appearances.

Independence now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Mount Juliet, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-2-1.

Coming up, Independence will take on Hendersonville at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. Hendersonville's pitching crew has only allowed 2.1 runs per game this season, so Independence's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Mount Juliet, they will host Gallatin at 5:00 p.m. on March 20th.
