Baseball Game Preview: La Crosse Central Riverhawks vs. Holmen Vikings

The La Crosse Central Riverhawks are taking a road trip to challenge the Holmen Vikings at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. La Crosse Central is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

La Crosse Logan hit La Crosse Central with a four-run first inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Riverhawks lost 10-2 to the Rangers.

La Crosse Central saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jude Alvarado, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Meanwhile, Holmen got the win against Tomah on Wednesday by a conclusive 9-2. The victory continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Timberwolves: they've now won seven in a row.

Holmen's win bumped their record up to 4-1-1. As for La Crosse Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

La Crosse Central skirted past Holmen 3-2 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Will the Riverhawks repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
