Kearney faced Lexington in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Bearcats who were credited with the win. The Kearney Bearcats got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to the Lexington Minutemen's three. The victory was familiar territory for Kearney, who have now won five contests in a row.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Kaden Slaymaker, who's now up to nine this season.

Kearney's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2. As for Lexington, they moved to 7-2 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
