Basketball Recap: Glenpool Falls Despite Big Games from Aaliyah Shawnee and Tyra Mckinnie

Glenpool and Bethany squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Glenpool had to settle for second. They received a blow as they fell 63-49 to the Bethany Bronchos. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bronchos this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 62-52 last Saturday.

Glenpool's loss came despite strong showings from Tyra Mckinnie and Aaliyah Shawnee. Mckinnie dropped a double-double with 18 points and 15 rebounds, while Shawnee posted 24 points and five assists. Shawnee's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 19 points. Camdyn Hull was another key player, putting up five points.

Glenpool's defeat dropped their record down to 20-11. As for Bethany, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 20-5.

Glenpool does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bethany, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 58-47 loss against Douglass on the 12th.
