Football Recap: Boca Raton Takes a Loss

Boca Raton extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 4-4. They lost 35-13 to the Cardinal Gibbons Chiefs. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 312th, while the Chiefs are ranked 62nd).

When it comes to explaining why Boca Raton lost, don't look at Adon Elmon. Despite the final result, he rushed for 138 yards and one TD on only 15 carries.

As for Cardinal Gibbons, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.7 points over those games.

Leading Cardinal Gibbons to victory were Jayden Torres and Donte Findeson. Torres threw for 243 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while Findeson rushed for 102 yards and two scores on only seven carries. That's the most rushing touchdowns Findeson has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Gary Hadley Jr., who picked up 93 receiving yards and one TD.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Boca Raton will square off against Spanish River at 6:30 p.m. on the 24th. The Sharks' defense has only allowed 11.3 points per game this season, so the Bobcats' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Cardinal Gibbons, they will face off against Chaminade-Madonna at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th.
