Baseball Game Preview: Newton Falls Tigers vs. Brookfield Warriors

For the second straight game, Newton Falls will face off against Brookfield. The Tigers will welcome the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Newton Falls has four straight wins, Brookfield has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Newton Falls proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by six) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Brookfield 6-5.

Cameron Huff made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Wyatt Wheeler, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Bracin Clutter also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Brookfield now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Newton Falls, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5.
