Basketball Recap: Hernando Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Hernando Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 69-22 loss at the hands of the Clearwater Central Catholic Marauders. The contest marked the Lions' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Cedric Jackson, Jr. was Hernando Christian Academy's leading scorer, having posted nine points. Caydon Williams held things down on the boards with ten rebounds.

Clearwater Central Catholic's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nels Angelillis, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 13 points. What's more, Angelillis also racked up two steals, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kamryn Andrade, who posted eight points and eight rebounds.

Hernando Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Clearwater Central Catholic, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.
