            Softball Preview: Paoli Rams vs. Henryville Hornets        
        
		
        
        
            Paoli hasn't had much luck against Henryville recently, but that could start to change  on Friday. The Rams will look to defend their home field  against the Hornets  at 5:30  p.m. Paoli has given up an average of 11.9  runs per game this season, but Friday's  game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Paoli is headed into Friday's   contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game  on Tuesday. They lost  11-1 to Crawford County. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 30, 2019, but that streak is no more.
 Paoli saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Jayda Smith, who  went 1-for-3 with one  stolen base and one  run.
Henryville let Borden stack five runs on them in the seventh inning  on Thursday but luckily Henryville prevailed anyway. The Hornets had just enough and edged out the Braves  10-9. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for the Hornets.
 The team  relied heavily on  Allie McAfee, who  got on base  in three of her four plate appearances with two  runs.  Kyleigh Lienhart also deserves some recognition as  she  hit her first  double of the season.
 Henryville's victory was  their sixth straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 9-3. Those  road  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Paoli, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10.
 Paoli might still be hurting after the  10-4 loss they got from Henryville  when the teams last played  back in May of 2023. Can the Rams avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
