Recap: Breathitt County Bobcats vs. Lawrence County Bulldogs
The Breathitt County Bobcats pushed their score all the way to 71 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 78-71 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lawrence County. Breathitt County has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Breathitt County lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Braxton Terry, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Jaxon Hamilton, who scored 15 points.
Breathitt County has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-3 record this season. As for Lawrence County, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Breathitt County will finish 2023 at home by hosting Muhlenberg County at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. Lawrence County will finish 2023 at home by hosting St. John's Christian Academy at 9:00 a.m. on Friday.
