Soccer Recap: Ashley Ridge Comes Up Short

Ashley Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Summerville Green Wave. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Summerville this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 1-0 two weeks ago.

Ashley Ridge's goal came courtesy of Marlee Christmas, who's now up to six this season.

Ashley Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Summerville, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

Ashley Ridge will square off against Cane Bay at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Summerville, they wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against Academic Magnet on the 29th.
