Baseball Recap: Mt. Whitney Takes a Loss

After flying high against Monache on Monday, Mt. Whitney came back down to earth. The Pioneers lost 10-4 to the Porterville Panthers on Thursday. The Pioneers haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Mt. Whitney saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eli McLennan, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Mt. Whitney's defeat dropped their record down to 7-20. As for Porterville, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-19.

Coming up, Mt. Whitney will challenge Redwood at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rangers will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Pioneers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Porterville, they will host Monache at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
