Basketball Game Preview: Port Huron Red Hawks vs. L'Anse Creuse Lancers

Port Huron hasn't had much luck against L'Anse Creuse recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Port Huron Red Hawks will face off against the L'Anse Creuse Lancers at 7:00 p.m. Port Huron has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Port Huron is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took down Marysville 62-48 on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Meanwhile, L'Anse Creuse had to suffer through a 68-40 loss at the hands of Grosse Pointe South.

Port Huron's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for L'Anse Creuse, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Port Huron ended up a good deal behind L'Anse Creuse when the teams last played back in February of 2023, losing 64-45. Thankfully for Port Huron, Caron Williams (who posted 21 points in addition to six boards and four steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
