Basketball Recap: Butternut Comes Up Short

Butternut was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 34th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Drummond Lumberjacks, falling 68-17. The Midgets lost against the Lumberjacks in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 58-29 score last time.

Butternut's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Drummond, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-5.

While Butternut had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
