After low-scoring totals in their previous three match, Galax brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They had just enough and edged out the Carroll County Cavaliers 10-8. The victory was some much needed relief for the Maroon Tide as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Molly Plant spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and four unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Galax got a massive performance out of Maddson Bobbitt, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Elizabeth Sizemore, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Galax's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Carroll County, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Galax will challenge Giles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Carroll County, they will square off against Radford at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Cavaliers are facing the Bobcats at the right time seeing as the Bobcats are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
