On the hitting side, Joey Spada was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Tro Fellings was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
Kalamazoo Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Otsego only posted an OBP of .333.
Meanwhile, Portage Central didn't have quite enough to beat Mattawan on Tuesday and fell 5-4.
Portage Central saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylan McNally, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Another was Cam Noe, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Kalamazoo Central pushed their record up to 6-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Portage Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.
Portage Central's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Kalamazoo Central hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .318.
