Basketball Game Preview: Carlisle County Comets vs. Fulton City Bulldogs

Carlisle County is 10-0 against Fulton City since January of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Carlisle County Comets will look to defend their home court against the Fulton City Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Carlisle County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.1 points per game this season.

Last Monday, Carlisle County ended up a good deal behind Calloway County and lost 67-50. The Comets have struggled against the Lakers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Carlisle County saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Wyatt Rickard dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 boards. Rickard has been hot recently, having also posted three or more blocks the last three times he's played. Jaron Williams was another key player, putting up eight points and four steals.

Even though they lost, Carlisle County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Fulton City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They fell 60-53 to Hickman County.

Carlisle County's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Fulton City, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-14.

Everything came up roses for Carlisle County against Fulton City when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as the team secured an 81-46 victory. Does Carlisle County have another victory up their sleeve, or will Fulton City turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
