Overton entered their tilt with Ansley/Litchfield on Thursday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Spartans. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since September 11th.

Overton had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 16-25, 25-23, 25-15.

Daisy Ryan paced Overton's offense, picking up 15 kills. Ryan got some help from Kyla Elfgren and her 32 assists. Elfgren was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Despite the loss, Ansley/Litchfield still got an impressive performance from Garittee Smith, who had 15 digs and two assists.

Overton's victory bumped their record up to 22-2. As for Ansley/Litchfield, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four matches and leaves them with a 19-4 record.

Overton will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Kearney Catholic on the 21st. As for Ansley/Litchfield, they have already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Loomis on the 9th.
