South Charlotte is 0-7 against Surry HomeSchool since January of 2023 but things could change on Monday. The Thunder will host the Runnin' Patriots at 6:15 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
South Charlotte is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 46-18 victory over NC H. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Thunder as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

South Charlotte's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Maribella Aitchison led the charge by putting up eight points and 12 steals. Aitchison has become a key player for the Thunder: the team is 2-1 when she posts at least three steals, but 0-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Evelyn Softly, who went 5-for-6 en route to 10 points and five steals.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Surry HomeSchool, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat State Line HomeSchool 46-0. The game marked the Runnin' Patriots' most dominant victory of the season so far.
South Charlotte better focus on containing Lindsay Easter and McKenna Stovall as the pair were huge in Surry HomeSchool's win. Easter shot 67% from the field on her way to 17 points and eight steals, while Stovall posted 11 points in addition to seven steals and six rebounds. Easter is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ava Tarsha, who scored two points along with five boards and five steals.
Surry HomeSchool smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.
South Charlotte's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Surry HomeSchool, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: South Charlotte has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 27 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Surry HomeSchool struggles in that department as they've been averaging 28.5 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
