Baseball Recap: Rangely Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Rangely had lost five straight at home, but on Saturday they dropped down to 2-14 to make it six. They came up short against the Olathe Pirates, falling 18-7. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 back in April.

Bradley Lambros made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Landon Bollinger was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

As for Olathe, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 12-6. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by eight runs or more this season.

On Olathe's side, Jack Combs made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Combs has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Braylon Lujan was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Juan Ramirez, who went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

Rangely didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 13-2 loss against Meeker on the 4th. As for Olathe, they have also already played their next contest, an 11-2 victory against Cedaredge on the 5th.
