Basketball Recap: Alpena Comes Up Short

Alpena was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 69-57 to the Sault Area Blue Devils. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 265th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 68th).

Alpena's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Sault Area, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-5.

Coming up, Alpena will head out to challenge Traverse City Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sault Area, they will square off against Gaylord at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Sault Area is facing Gaylord at the right time seeing as Gaylord is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
