Basketball Game Preview: Weld Central Rebels vs. Alamosa Mean Moose

The Weld Central Rebels will challenge the Alamosa Mean Moose at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Weld Central is headed into the contest having just suffered their closest defeat since February 6, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of Fort Morgan by a score of 41-38. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, after a string of eight wins, Alamosa's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 39-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of Centauri.

Weld Central will need to focus on slowing down Audrina Knorr, one of several Alamosa players who made an impact when they last played. She posted 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Rothermich, who had five points in addition to five rebounds and five blocks.

Weld Central has been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 16 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season. Alamosa's loss dropped their record down to 17-6.
