The Southern Choctaw Indians put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on Choctaw County with a sharp 65-41 win. Southern Choctaw might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won four contests by 24 points or more this season.
When it comes to explaining why Choctaw County lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tyshawn Carlisle. Despite the final result, he scored 11 points along with 6 steals. Carlisle scored a full 26.8% of Choctaw County's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Jerome Blanks Jr. was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Southern Choctaw's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Choctaw County, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Southern Choctaw will be playing in front of their home fans against Leroy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Choctaw County, they will head out on the road to face off against Marion at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Marion presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Choctaw County in Alabama (Marion is ranked 173rd, while Choctaw County is ranked 371st).
