Softball Recap: Bella Vista Find Success

Bella Vista lost to Rosemont back in May of 2018, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Broncos came out on top against the Wolverines by a score of 4-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Mackenzie Dean made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lilly Cornejo, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.

Bella Vista was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rosemont only posted a batting average of .176.

The victory got Bella Vista back to even at 10-10. As for Rosemont, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.

Bella Vista has already played their next game, an 8-2 defeat against Inderkum on the 21st. As for Rosemont, they will venture away from home to take on El Dorado at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolverines are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
