Basketball Recap: Druid Hills Takes a Loss

Druid Hills won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They were beaten by the Southwest DeKalb Panthers 56-20. The Red Devils were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-6.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Southwest DeKalb to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kelvin Peek, III, who went 5 of 10 en route to 12 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Messiah Mergan, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 12 points.

Druid Hills' loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Southwest DeKalb, their win bumped their record up to 11-1.

Druid Hills will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Pius X Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Southwest DeKalb and Prosser will compete for holiday cheer at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
