Softball Game Preview: Linden-Kildare Tigers vs. Bowie Pirates

The Linden-Kildare Tigers will venture away from home to challenge the Bowie Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Linden-Kildare is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

Things were looking good for Linden-Kildare after they put the first points on the board on Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Bowie by a score of 10-9.

Linden-Kildare got a good showing from Callie Johnson, who struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits.

At the plate, Lynlee Lejeune led a balanced group of hitters, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Allyssa Dixon, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

The victory made it two in a row for Bowie and bumps their season record up to 3-5. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.5 runs across that stretch. As for Linden-Kildare, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.
