Recap: Amelia County Raiders vs. Buckingham Knights
Even though the Amelia County Raiders have not done well against the Buckingham Knights recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Amelia County managed a 64-58 victory over Buckingham. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Amelia County had a senior duo take command as JAIDEN SQUIRE scored 28 points along with six steals and five rebounds and JUSTIN PERRY dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. PERRY is crushing the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of ANAIS KING, who scored nine points.
Amelia County is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. As for Buckingham, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-5.
Amelia County and Nottoway will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Buckingham, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Cumberland at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th. One thing working in Buckingham's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last nine matches.
