Soccer Game Preview: St. Joseph's Catholic vs. Marist

The St. Joseph's Catholic Knights are taking a road trip to face off against the Marist War Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are still undefeated (St. Joseph's Catholic has eight wins , while Marist has nine dating back to last season).

St. Joseph's Catholic gave up the first goal last Wednesday, but they didn't let that get them down. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Knights who were credited with the win. Their winning goal came courtesy of Jonny Bunecke.

Marist's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They won by a goal and slipped past St. Pius X Catholic 1-0. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Marist were the better team in the second half.

Marist pushed their record up to 9-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those four matchups. As for St. Joseph's Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 8-0.
