Softball Preview: Galloway Scots vs. Duluth Wildcats
The Galloway Scots will venture away from home to take on the Duluth Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Galloway is no doubt hoping to put an end to a ten-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Galloway lost 8-1 to Walker on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Duluth posted their closest victory since September 21, 2023 on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Alcovy 6-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.
Kaylie Zirger made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched 5.2 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Zirger was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Saniya Simmons was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Savannah Mees, who went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
