Center Grove put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 58-48 victory over the Plainfield Quakers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Trojans also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.

Center Grove's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Gracyn Gilliard led the charge by going 8 for 12 on her way to 23 points and five rebounds. Gilliard's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Emerson Vlcan was another key player, putting up ten points.

Center Grove was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Plainfield only racked up six assists.

Despite the loss, Plainfield saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Hannah Menser posted 21 points and three steals. Menser has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 13 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Berkeley Williams, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 11 points.

Center Grove's win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-0. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.5 points per game. As for Plainfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-2.

Center Grove wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 45-30 loss against Bloomington South on the 12th. As for Plainfield, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-48 defeat against Noblesville on the 14th.
